Fallout 4 is the only game i play that doesn't support Ultrawide at the moment. However the 'Flawless Widescreen' program has helped with that. This is an issue for games that don't support ultrawide. You'll also have to make sure you are in Fullscreen mode in order to use SLI.

Note: EVERY Nvidia driver update you'll have to go into the Nvidia control panel and reactivate SLI, (3D settings > Configure SLI, Surround, PhysX > SLI configuration > Maximize 3D performance). They should keep you happy until the next 'ti' Pascal model comes out. The performance gains you'll get are worth it in my opinion. I haven't run into any video memory issues thus far. I'm not sure what 970 you have but I'm running two 970 ftw+'s and have been very happy with their performance. I think buying another 970 is a nice interim solution.
